#1 New York Times bestseller!

The battle for the crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail?

With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off.

Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out. And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before—ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent.

In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the crown: each other.

Blake is the real deal with this follow up to Three Dark Crowns. The saga continues as the triplets continue to grapple for the right to rule their island kingdom.

This was DEFINITELY better and more fast paced than the first book. The ending was a bit of a cliff hanger however it sort of works out since I am really anticipating the next book. To be totally honest i expected this to flop since it’s the second book and i wasn’t too happy with the first one.

Not only was this steady paced but it gives more insight to the queens themselves instead of their background, purpose and crew. We learned a juicy bit of info about Arsinoe in the first book and believe me it DOES come up again. We learn juicy bits about EVERYONE in this installment. I really enjoyed the way this was set up with the flicking back and forth between all three queens. Normally, that isn’t my thing but it really worked out well in this case. If you muscled through the first book, didnt really love it but are still curious about what happens DEFINITELY read this one. I would have regretted giving up on this story if I only had the first book to go off of.

One Dark Throne (sequel to Three Dark Crowns) is an impressive journey that turns everything from the first book upside down. I can gladly say this one was filled with just as much action, if not more, than the first book! I also have to praise it well because I haven't read a book like this in one sitting in a really long time but it was just too good to put down so I read it from start to finish and sat there all shocked after the last page. One Dark Throne really got character development right for me because these girls have all changed drastically and I really didn't expect many of the events that happened. I was also very happy because the action started early on in the book so all throughout it was such a speedy read and nothing felt like it was under or over-explained.

A good resolution to this dark, dystopian tale. Three young queens and sisters must battle to the death for the crown, using their special powers to defeat each other. I loved all the characters, but identified most with Arsinoe and Mirabella. Katerine is pure evil. You won't soon forget the characters in this story. I wish there were a continuation to the series, but this is the second and last one. Well worth your time.

What a ride.

It was definitely hard to put this down and I only did because I had other things to do. The world is interesting.

That ending was sad but... weirdly appropriate.

I enjoyed the first book, but this one was definitely better. Some of the more pesky aspects from the first book were handled much better in this book, like the pacing and the love triangle. This is a good book for anyone looking for YA titles with female friendships, sisters, realistic romance, and intrigue.
