What a gorgeous world Laini Taylor has built around the amazing character, Lazlo Strange! Tragic histories, difficult lives, uncertain futures and love are woven intricately together in the city of Weep. Lucinda LOVED this YA Fantasy, and can't wait for the next in the series! Of course, who doesn't love a good underdog story, when searching for a hero ...?

Intriguing concepts and story but some times slow and disorienting when switching points of view. Curious to find out what happens next...

This was my first time reading a book by Laini Taylor and I was impressed! She has a beautiful writing style and all of her characters, even those we aren't positioned to like, have depth. I really can't wait for the next one.

Note: Story does start a little slow and there are some areas where the author might have cut down on text without affecting the story. But I'm really not complaining.

I love this author. But this book seemed a little slow at the beginning of the story. When I read to around 200 pages I did not want to put the book down. I needed to know more about the magical city of Weep.

Laini Taylor has complete control over the written word and weaves her magic yet again with her newest fantasy novel. Amazing world-building; characters you can't but help cheer for and cry over; and a story the unfolds at a near-perfect pace. If you enjoyed Taylor's "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" trilogy, then you'll love this one too.

Strange the Dreamer is STUNNING. Not only is it beautifully written, the setting is perfectly unique. The story is intriguing fantasy (and stars a junior librarian!) blended with mystery, romance and tragedy - and anyone who has ready Laini Taylor's other books will know how painfully she combines romance and tragedy. Five stars.

A lushly romantic fantasy. Perfect for fans of lovely prose, strong world-building, and unconventional fantasy plots. Those who enjoyed Daughter of Smoke and Bone will want to be sure to check this one out! I will be holding my breath in anticipation of the sequel!

A young librarian's dream of finding a lost city cursed after a war between the Gods and men, but Lazlo finds much more than that on his journey...

This book was incredible and I loved every minute of the beautifully written novel. There was such a relatable factor for any lover of books and dreams and the plot was so interesting and suspenseful.
