I recommend this film to anyone who has found painting and any art or music form to soothe a busy or troubled mind. Many of us have a compulsion to paint and create. Sally Hawkins as Maud Lewis is a fascinating piece of acting - you cannot take your eyes of her every move.

A harsh look at life when you are born "less than perfect" in the eyes of others but are truly capable of a life lived fully under your own sail.

Sally Hawkins' ability to twist her body to show the physical space Maud Lewis lived in is remarkable - a great actress in a great starring role.
Hope she got some P.T. after filming.
