It started off okay. The viewer is drawn in to the nurse's life. We wondered why she had such a fascination for certain types of pens. She was interesting; she had a flair for detail (her cake decorating hobby). There is a major crisis and we feel bad for the nurse-how is she going to cope? And then the story spirals downhill big time-for me anyway. The nurse isn't a sympathetic character-she's a sociopath. It's terrible what happens to her but what she does to others (including animals) is atrocious. I would have liked it if she was just a quirky person instead of a being a psychopath and it would have been better if the story progressed differently instead of it being a revenge story. Just my opinion.

I watched this last night after getting home, for something to see, i think Rosamund Pike was really good but the plot itself was kind of dumb (for lack of a better word)

Yes, the story was predictable but you could not be all sure until the end. A nice vengeance tale, your "member" for your "deed." The credit song "Our Sleepless Minds" in Videos is a force fit to the theme in mho:
Strength//We'll fight another day//To break the silence//Of a sleepless mind//Fend//For your and my own sake//We sail together//Through the blazing sky//Send us shining//Out of this state//Divided we let go//Unite us we'll pay//For times our freedom//Leads us in vain//Derided we stand down//All blinded by faith//Mend//Our hearts won't lay astray ...

Predictable story starring Rosamund Pike who may be getting a rep for this find of film (see Gone Girl). Personally, I think she 's too good an actress for that, but in Hollywood, you mostly have to take roles as they come to you, though DeNiro is a good example of why one might want to be more selective.

Good. I have been following Rosamund Pike since her beginning. She is great, and she can convey anything with those big eyes too. See An Education and Gone Girl.

A fairly satisfying movie about a rapist and a victim who takes care of business.

Nancy: Hey, wait! I heard that you were going out on some kind of blind date. I mean, really,
you're keeping that from me?
Miranda: It's nothing, really. A decompressive craniectomy is nothing, really.

Mitchell: You know, you have your mother's nose, and not much else.
