Dawes's All Your Favorite Bands does have that slow kind of feel to it but is still a decent find. Their album Nothing is Wrong to me is their very best work.
One band you may like better is Alabama Shakes. I saw both on PBS on Austin City Limits and they both perform very well live.

Dawes is a band that I really want to like but I find myself getting bored a minute into every song... I did enjoy the title track on this album though
