I loved this series and hated to see it end! Three seasons only made me want at least two more...
I felt a real bond with several of these characters, which is relatively rare for me. Will, Jim, Charlie, Sloan, and so many others, will be missed!
Television at its best.

Television as it should be. A meaty series which includes philosophy, romance and humour. Missed it the first time around, but now have enjoyed the whole series.

I can see the criticism for being a bit ranty, but the rants make me happy. My main complaint is that there only 6 episodes (and only 3 seasons). Ah, well.

Good drama, but not as good as earlier seasons. On the other hand, this series ends with a happy ending, though there is a "death in the family".

Same super quality of script and crew of actors that focused on the integrity of reports during the Boston Bombing event (race to be first had endangered wrong suspects), wikileak-like controversial (failed black-op) and pop-news based on crowd sourced social networks. Jeff Daniels showed off his singing in the finale

"THE NEWSROOM" • LOVED the First Season — the pace, the timing, the thrills. • The Second Season… Lotsa bang & pizzazz — then they started adding in all these romantic sub-plots (most of which I found uninteresting). • The final Third Season… That great Aaron Sorkin high-tension bang right out of the box… And then the series just melts into romance & melodrama. • Found the Third Season a bit of a slog at the end. Wish they had kept the tension up right until the end. Instead? It gets maudlin. Too bad.

3rd and final season. Alas, another Sorkin experience truncated. How is this happening? Maybe If Aaron was pushed by a strong personality and some other constraints he would channel his loves with different structures. West Wing had a lot of variety for him; he had a strong team over there with Wells (“Southland”) and Schlamme et al. So good in fact, the show never lost a beat after he left (and seasons 6 and 7 excelled outrageously). Or adapting other material a la “Social Network” is his delimiter. Or maybe he should do a Camelot with either lefty revolutionaries (what always should have been for him) or spiritual transcenders. Yeah, I think… ≥≥≥ Starts out gangbusters w/Boston Marathon, then leaks juice approaching the inevitable. Maybe Aaron needs a new kind of mushroom (or DEA man on his ass).

Charlie: And I ask him (grandson Bo), "What's a kid from New Rochelle doing singing about Memphis?" He said, "Memphis is a stand-in for wherever you are right now. That it really means that's how I got here."

Will: Charlie Skinner was crazy. He identified with Don Quixote, an old an with dementia who thought he could save the world from an epidemic of incivility simply by acting like a knight. His religion was decency.
