Very good. Extremely well crafted, interweaving story lines.

Excellent series, but viewers who closely connect to characters will find the content distressing. Parents of the missing child handle the tragedy in very different ways with very different results. I'm looking forward to watching the second season.

Very real movie. Keeps you on your toes wanting to see what really happened. Sad, that this can happen in real life.

Rated 6/10. This DVD two disc set covers one story over 8 episodes. The problem here is that when you have this kind of TV format to cover a certain time frame, it most likely stretches on for longer than needs be. The suspense becomes watered down, and somewhat boring. The same kind of format was done with series like Broadchurch and The Fall.

To my way of thinking, there are enough real cases of missing children in the news, like Michael Dunahee, who disappeared at age 4, that are never found. Do we really need movies to remind us of this? I would have preferred a definite ending to this series.

There is a series 2 of The Missing (check Wikipedia), but it is a different story with apparently only Baptiste (the retired policeman) playing in it.

UK parents in France has their young son go missing so they have to find a retired French detective help find him. This series had a great mix of mysterious plot and great acting. I found it to be one of the best mini-series of the year. The rumor was that there would be a second series. There was, but not in the way most people thought. IMDb indicates that the episodes of the second series are better than the first season. I have just watched the second series, which was very good (and very different from the first series).

Interesting series. This series moves back and forth between 2006 and 2014 as the parents look for the child that was taken. This sometimes makes it difficult to follow the story. I did like that the mother had short light hair in 2006 and long dark curly hair in 2016 which made it easier to follow. The father was always angry and short tempered. This series was very well done and the actors are fantastic!

Absolutely marvellous. The acting is so so good. Gut wrenching story, reminded me of little Maddy from England who disappeared in Portugal while on holiday and they are still searching for her. I loved Tcheky Karyo who plays the French detective, his understated way...but all the actors are first rate.

Could not stop watching this. Even ended up getting up at 2am when I couldn't sleep...to keep watching it. A difficult subject very well handled. James Nesbitt is astounding as an actor and Jean Baptiste really brings a fantastic dynamic to the story. Looking forward to FVRL getting Series 2 & 3

Thoroughly enjoyed. Great acting. Weak conclusion to the story which was the only disappointing factor.
