From reading the synopsis of the book on the inside cover, I expected to like this book. That did not happen. The first thing that annoyed me was the abruptness of the beginning. Following shortly after, the insta-love between Edie and Kian. And the story was just... weird. Apparently, in the world of this book, anything enough humans believe becomes real, which could be a cool story idea if done correctly. But it just seemed like the author found a lot of creepy legends and characters online and tried to fit as many in this story as possible. I guess the plot WAS original, but to the point of being weird. Pretty much, two businesses (Dwyer and Fell was one, I forgot the name of the other) with ancient gods as the CEOs are competing against each other. They have employed creatures like the Oracle of Delphi, the thin man (basically Slenderman), a murder clown, and the spirit that appears in the mirror if you do the Bloody Mary thing with candles, as well as teens like Kian (a skinny, ugly kid with bad skin who used one of the 3 wishes he got to become handsome. He could have wished for anything, and he wished for that, a nice car, and a girl to like him so he could reject her. Wow, good job.) I guess this book wasn't as bad as some other things I've read, but I would never recommend it.
