This movie is quite boring for the first 40 minutes and the acting was terrible. Cameron Diaz has this ridiculous southern accent about one quarter of the movie for some reason. Then when the movies does seem to have a plot, it is so bizarrely stupid beyond words.

30 minutes of a pretty decent thriller and an hour of the most nonsensical plot you've seen. It has a really stupid reveal halfway through and the movie gets dumber even after that. Don't even bother, you'd be better off just flipping the light switch for 1.5 hour.

Weird and pointless rambling.

Contains spolier! Is it morals or really gullibility? My take on this is somewhat different than what I think they intended. Supposedly it is a test of morals of humanity. What if the real test was to see how gullible we are? Would anyone really risk pushing the button without asking a lot more questions? Maybe that is what they were testing. Eveni if I were willing to push the button, I would need to know a lot more details to make the decision, and if they wouldn't answer me, that is the answer. Perhaps the real message is about not making rash decisions with incomplete information.

i liked it better than i thought i would, but wished it would have been executed better. Not a fan of Diaz so i went into it slightly biased.

This movie had my friend and i scratching our heads trying to figure out what was going on. Not since "Donnie Darko" has a movie been so weird to my friend who just couldn't make sense of the film. I was cracking up constantly listening to her say "what the f@#k is going on?" I must admit that i, too, was a bit mystified while watching this movie, but i enjoyed it anyway. It was certainly different from what we normally watch. The special effects for make-up was very good on Mr. Langella face. Every time they showed him my friend covered her eyes partially because it made her slightly ill looking at the side of his face. I considered the audio in this movie "all around sound" and it should be watched on your HOMETHEATER! After the movie was over she must have asked me a million questions about the story. I told her the guy was an alien who was testing us. Yeah, right!!! I was, and still am uncertain about the story. This is one of those films where you just go for the ride and enjoy where the story takes you. For that, i give this "head scratching film" 4 stars. For an unusual story, very good make-up effects, and having my friend completely confused. A pint of General Tso chicken, pork fried rice, two egg rolls, and chinese tea.

Love Cameron Diaz !! But, this is really a bad movie. The only real reason to spend any time watching it is to See the BPL's Johnson and McKim Building in a Movie.
