In order to be safe from the violent conflict in Sudan, Sangoel has left his homeland and has moved to a refugee camp. Eventually, he and his mother and sister are able to resettle in America. Although they are welcomed and treated with kindness, Sangoel is frustrated by how often people say his name wrong. He comes up with a creative solution this and his new friends at school join in the fun of learning how to say each other's names.
