The difficulty I seem to encounter each time I read a Harry Bosch novel by Michael Connelly is that I declare it to be my favorite, then I read another and declare that to be my favorite --- so also must I declare Lost Light to be my favorite: the author perfectly captures how the FBI, organizations in general, police organizations in particular and the bad guys, behave. Each and every time!

Another great book by Connelly. Love Bosch and his relentless moral code in trying to bring justice to victims. There was a rare and surprising brief moment for me when my eyes teared up. I will remember this one scene for a long time. Not sure how the series will continue given that Bosch has retired and what happens at the conclusion of the story. Watch the TV series if you can. Titus Welliver is great in the role.

Very slow getting started and no really one I would recommend.

A great story. I enjoyed it. I am waiting for the next one on hold.....

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I agree with the others who reviewed the book and "the hands" issue. That aside the story line was excellent and the usual twists that Connelly weaves made for a great read,

well crafted plot, but I agree that there seemed to be no significance about the hands of the victim.
Worth reading.

I found this novel a little less compelling, at first. The description of the "hands" and how they were positioned and how that haunted Harry: there was never any closure there. Having said that, the ending was very exciting, and quite made up for the rest of the book.

I love reading series such as this where the main character becomes more and more developed and three-dimensional over time. Bosch is certainly an interesting protagoinist.

A most enjoyable Harry Bosch novel; takes us a step further into the complex character of Harry Bosch.

"I'm a believer in the single-bullet theory. You can fall in love and make love many times but there is only one bullet with your name etched on the side. And if you are lucky enough to be shot with that bullet then the wound never heals.
....Eleanor Wish had been my bullet. She had pierced me through and through. There were other women before and other women since but the wound she left would not heal right. I was still bleeding and I knew I would always bleed for her. That was just the way it had to be. There is no end of things in the heart."
