Add a CommentI loved reading this book again for the 2017 Battle of the Books at our library. I lived in Chicago for a few years and I worked at the Blackstone Branch Library for two years, which is in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Petra, Tommy, and Calder could have been my patrons! This is a fun read for kids who like mysteries and puzzles.
A very interesting story. I loved how information about Frank Lloyd Wright and the Wright house were worked into a curious mystery. I did find that some elements were a bit too implausible - not so much the supernatural bits, but the way some of the adults in the story acted and reacted to the kids. A fun read, though.
It is very mysterious and creative. I like it because I like reading more about the same characters from Chasing Vermeer and I like mysteries.
I've read better. This book seems more for younger ages. There is a bit of a mystery yet it isn't quite catching. Perhaps you will like this book but I recommend this book for kids in elementary school.
I liked this book. I thought it was cool how 6th graders could save a house from being torn down. I think it was exciting how they found weird clues to lead them to saving the Robie House. My favorite part is when they go to the museum and follow Mr. Dare and Ms. Hussey.
