Overall this was a very informative lecture series covering Rome and its interactions with surrounding civilizations up until about 600 AD. The most interesting parts for me were learning more about the Celts and "Germans". Although there is obviously going to be a military focus for some of the series, there is a lot about the culture, politics, economics, and religion of both Rome and "the Barbarians". Also, "the Barbarians" is used in a generally ironic way.
