VERY GOOD 2010 bio-pic of Patsy Cline - won me over more and more as it went on. Lots of enjoyable Patsy tunes, good acting by both Jessica Lange and Ed Harris - glad I gave it a watch.

I've always liked Patsy Cline, going back the sixties, but I never got around to seeing this film made in the eighties until now. I really liked the film, and Jessica Lange is great in it. I do have several misgivings, however.

First of all, Ed Harris and Jessica Lange have zero chemistry, at least I thought so. Secondly, the film has several historical inaccuracies, such as the 1961 car crash that nearly cost Patsy Cline her life and the depiction of the 1963 plane crash that killed her.

This biopic of the late great tragic life of Patsy Cline is served well by its authenticity. First, the locations consist of West Virginia and Tennessee and the wonderful performances from Jessica Lange (arguably her best), Ed Harris and Ann Wedgeworth ring true. Lastly, the music from the legendary singer is heard throughout the soundtrack. Though it's a sad and emotional film, it's very rewarding.
